I photographed this wedding with the proviso that they didn’t leave their guests for photos, and just had a bloody good time. And who knew you could find a beautiful location for their couple portraits like this in Brisbane Suburbia!
Their story goes something like this: Alana + Tim were legally married a few months before due to ill family but still wanted to celebrate with all their people. They organised this shindig so perfectly for them. We started off with their couple portraits in a little area not far from Tim’s parent’s property where they held a beautiful party in a clear marquee filled with fairy lights 👌. They shared cuddles, walks, lovingly gazing into each others eyes and held hands together while I took a bunch of images before we headed off to the party.

They had asked one of their good friends to officiate the ceremony (with no legals), had another good friend play acoustic guitar while Alana walked down the aisle and then just had fun chatting, watching the kids play footy, eating and drinking the night away with their friends.
This brisbane wedding is summed up with one of my favourite quotes; “Just because it is what’s done, doesn’t mean it still should be done” because they celebrated the way they wanted and didn’t care for any of the traditional stuff because that didn’t matter to them. All that mattered was that their people were there.
Guess the movie where the quote (which I slightly altered) is from 😉
Want me for your 2020 wedding? Don’t be a fool and miss out!
